There are third-party GUIs for the lazy. Like Office, adobe, IE etc. We publish a desktop here and let the agent drop in the applications. When I add a server I have to go and add it to each standard app and it's a pain (i know I can script it but i'm lazy). this would let me avoid that for the basics and I can still make the oddball apps i have in silos a regular published app. it also may help some issues we have seen with smart cards, session sharing, and disconnected sessions. off to test...... (Yesm, your Desktop server and apps server can be one and the same). You can't compare a 3-tier architecture with a 2-tier architecture and say the sky has an orange tint in Arizona. By publishing content for all your apps, you've just screwed with any chance you have of publishing just that application for remote access. You can only use publish desktop. -----Original Message----- From: thin-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:thin-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of MSTerminalServices.org Sent: Wednesday, September 05, 2007 6:51 AM To: THIN List Subject: [THIN] MSTerminalServices.org - User Desktop Management using the Citrix Content Publishing Feature MSTerminalServices.org - RealTime Article Update Hi THIN List, Title: User Desktop Management using the Citrix Content Publishing Feature Author: Josef Zeiler Link: http://www.MSTerminalServices.org/articles/User-Desktop-Management-Citrix-Co ntent-Publishing.html Summary: How administrators can provide access to published applications in environments, where published desktops have to be used in order to provide an "enterprise desktop" user environment.
