Works fine for small farms, it is actually included on the 3.0 CD and fully
supported. I would recommend you go to 3.0 though, I know it works with XP
but it is a lot warmer and a lot fuzzier with 3.0. Besides 3.0 is completely
better in every way!

Has anyone tried using MSDE instead of the fully blown SQL 2000 as a data
store in a direct connect scenario? If so, were there any tricks to get it
working?
I know that it is not supported and recommended, however I'm only deploying
a single server for a client, and would prefer to place the data store on a
different server.
We're using MF XP 1.0 FR3.
