[THIN] Re: License servers not found

Sort of along the lines that you mentioned, I went into AD Sites and
Services and noticed that the TS licensing object had "multiple items"
listed instead of server names.  I typed in the server name and now lsview
sees it.    Hopefully my clients can now get a license.

BTW, reinstalling the license service did not correct the issue.

Adam,
Can you ping the name of the license server from the TS server?  That
will test name resolution.

If name resolution is OK., try running the RK tool LDP.exe to browse
your AD LDAP directory.  When you open LDP, select Connection / Bind
and connect with a valid Domain Account.

Then choose View / Tree and select the Configuration tree, this will
have an LDAP path that looks like
"CN=Configuration,DC=domainname,DC=com"

Browse to
CN=TS-Enterprise-License-Server,CN=site-name,CN=sites,CN=configuration,DC=domainname,DC=com.


If you can't find this entry which specifies your License Server name,
then that is your problem and you need to somehow get the entry back
in there. (I'm not exactly sure how you could do this without a
re-install, my guess would be to use ADSI edit, but you dont want to
get this wrong).  So if its not there I would recommend either
re-installing your TSCAL server or set the reg keys in each server so
that they can skip the auto discover process and just query the reg
key to find the TSCAL server.

If you do have the entry there then make sure your admin shares are
working on the TSCAL server IPC$, ADMIN$, or C$.  If they work and the
LDAP side of things is correct then I'm out of ideas.
