Most of the documentation can be found on Sun Microsystems web site:
http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4.2/docs/guide/plugin/developer_guide/silent.html

The site doesn't specify the -a switch, but I was unable to get the 1.4.1 to
work without it. Also the WebStartIcon = 0 doesn't work with 1_4_1.

Can you point me to documentation on this? I want to identify what is going
on.

Thanks

This is what your looking for. No need to extract the .msi or find it.

j2re-1_4_1_02-windows-i586-i.exe -a /s /v"/qn ADDLOCAL=jrecore
REBOOT=suppress JAVAUPDATE=0"

I need to get my hands on the MSI for the JRE shipped with MFPSV3 so we can
automate installs..

I have seen messages on the web saying run it with /A and it will expand the
exe to the msi. Does not seem to do it. I get a bunch of files and 1 cab
file.  No msi.

Anyone know how to get it and where?

thanks
