[THIN] Re: Internet Terminal

Carl,

Try to look for some protection software/hardware that will allow your
people to do pretty much whatever they want but on the reboot the PC will be
automatically restored to the original state. I can recommend as a hardware
the Scheriff card by Jungsoft- great card (ISA and PCI available) but a bit
expensive, hasn't been cracked by our students in the college for years.

Software solution may be the DeepFreeze: http://www.deepfreezeusa.com/

Hope you find this useful

Subject: [THIN] Internet Terminal

I apologize if this question is a bit off topic. We operate a number of =
non-profit long term care communities for older adults and would like to =
be able to offer Internet access for our residents. We currently give =
them access via our T-1 from the public side of the corporate firewall =
but have had problems with using PCs or standard thin clients to do =
this. PCs quickly become a nightmare with porno downloads, etc. =
(residents of off-hour staff, we're not sure) and thin clients =
(WinTerms) used just for Internet access leave a lot to be desired. I =
would appreciate any suggestions on an Internet terminal or other method =
for accomplishing access for our residents that is reasonably functional =
with a low support overhead.

Thanks...

carl
