Ok, in a previous message you had mentioned that if you are standing at the
console of the Citrix server and you logon and use the Internet Explorer
there, you CAN get to the web. Did I hear this correctly???

It's on the Citrix server.

Where are you launching IE from when using those thin clients? Are you
using the built - in version of Internet Explorer on those thin clients?
Or
are you using the internet explorer on the Citrix server?

All the setting are the same. I thought it may have been the PIX.=3D20
But now I'm leaning toward ... maybe it's the Websense denying access.

Ok, if the pcs that DO have the ability to get to outside internet
addresses
are not using Citrix, than I would think the problem sits on your Citrix
servers and has nothing to do with the fact that they are using thin
clients. I would check the network settings on your Citrix servers. I
would check to make sure that they have the proper DNS and Default
Gateway
settings. Or atleast ensure that they have the same settings in those
two
categories as your pcs that CAN access the internet...

None of the Thins can get outside internet addresses. The regular
Windows (fat guys)desktops are ok.=3D3D20

So let me see if I understand this correctly, you have pcs that connect
to a
published desktop on a Citrix server and using the internet explorer
within
that desktop, they CAN access the internet.

And you have thin clients that connect to that same published desktop on
a
Citrix server and using the same internet explorer they CAN NOT access
the
internet???

DOS clients with a published server desktop, ofcourse policies limiting
what they see/access. IE 5.5 None of the client configs have changed
since the new PIX/Websense.

The NAT on the PIX looks correct

I would verify any "NAT (inside) 0 (insert ACL or IP range)" or "NAT
(inside) 1 (insert ACL or IP range)" is correct. Also, what Thin
Clients
are you using, and what is the version of the web browser?

Websense for filtering, which was installed at the same time as the PIX.
So that could be the problem. Windows PC's have internet access, but not
the
Thin Clients. I believe the NAT address is correct. Thanks,J

What exactly do you mean? Can you access the Internet from other
machines
internally? Are you using CBAC or Websense to filter websites? Do you
have
the correct NAT statement on the PIX?

How does ICA fit into this picture when browsing the Internet?

Ever since we installed our PIX firewall our Thin Clients don't get
internet
access. Hasn't been a big deal because we use our Citrix on shop floor
PC's
,so production isn't suffering without web. But I would really like to
get
this cleaned up. Any suggestions from those with a PIX and ICA? I
believe
the PIX and 1494 don't play nice, =3D3D3D3D3D20 Thanks,Joanne
