Jim, Bottom line is that you are a Star for creating TheThin and for your contributions over many years- you can go no wrong by me!! Even if you are an MS lover (totally and utterly and completely JUST KIDDING about this, please take this as the joke it is meant to be) Bottom line, we all love AND hate MS, how can you not?!? I've supported Microsoft, like, forever. All of my websites and mailing lists have something to do with supporting their products. I've critcized them openly when they got or get something wrong but I've never stooped to the evil empire cynicism. And I definitely don't theorize or make up rumors either. BM I am not. : ) I'd like to think I have helped better the product over the years and you probably have myself to blame for them making a whole lot more money. Heaven knows I've saved them hundreds of thousands of dollars in support costs over the years. : ) Just don't lump me in with either side. Da lovers or da haters. I am neither. You better believe I am the first to speak up when they get something wrong, but I have better thnings to do with my life than to worry about what they do with my information and whether they are a monopoly or not. I'd be a hell of lot more afraid and worried about what would or did happen to the 4.4 million people who lost their info to hackers that their tool stopped from happening than I would with MS having my info, hands down any day of the week. It is the ignorant sob's who write this malware who you should really focus your skeptism and anger on. I wish they would bring back draw and quartering. Do that to a few hackers on live TV a few times and maybe they would stop. Oh God, what have I done, now my sites will all be hit with DOS attacks...bunch of babies they all are. Bring it on. : ) JK Steve Greenberg <steveg@ wrote: Jim, Ah, So you have drunk the Kool Aid!! :-) Steve Greenberg Thin Client Computing 34522 N. They have your info. It stands to reason that since they wrote the OS that they should be security conscious enough to protect it. The only way they know if their malware product is working and to keep it updated, especially with all of the different versions of malware out there is by receiving feedback. Get a grip. It is like the people at your work that think you have nothing better to do than to read their email all day. BOFH excluded. There are some pretty shocking results of the amount of virii this thing has cleaned. For example 4.4 million removals of Win32/Rbot, another interesting statistic..the tool cleaned one computer that had over 251 variants of malware. I can only imagine what that person was doing on the web. : ) Article about it here: http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,1895,1975563,00.asp See the full report from Microsoft here: http://download.microsoft.com/download/3/d/e/3de2470b-ab9a-4a7f-b760-ee2421d f294a/WindowsRemovalToolWP.doc Jim Kenzig <mailto:web%20at%20kenzig.com> CEO The Kenzig Group http://www.kenzig.com <http://www.kenzig.com/> Sponsorships Available! <http://www.kenzig.com/217/227/index.html> Blog: http://www.techblink.com <http://www.techblink.com/> Terminal Services Downloads: http://www.thinhelp.com <http://www.thinhelp.com/> Windows Vista: http://www.VistaPop.com <http://www.vistapop.com/> Virtualization: http://www.virtualize-it.com <http://www.virtualize-it.com/> Games: http://www.stressedpuppy.com <http://www.stressedpuppy.com/>
