Actually, the HP blades do not require the advanced license for full iLO
functionality, it comes with the blades.

Unfortunately, for all other HP server products, you are correct. :(

Imaging shouldn't change much. You can still use Altiris, etc.

I've used the BladeCenter in a recent project and thought they were great.
Aside from the fact that they are space saving, an advantage of the
BladCenter is that you get the full GUI remote control via the Management
card. The iLO that comes with HP servers does not give you that unless you
pay the extra for the Advanced license.

If you are going to fill it with 14 Blades as oppose to having 14 DL360's,
then a BladCenter would take up much less than 14RU's. I understand that it
would also use less power than 14 DL360's.

A bit of marketing....60% of IBM blades sold are used in Citrix projects.

We are IBM blade users, but haven't deployed Citrix on them yet,
although that is inevitable. Hardware is hardware. It may change some of
your imaging / deployment methods, but the IBM Director and RDM software
may help there.
