I'd like to strip down PS4 back to it's original default installed
printers. I can see 2 ways to do this:
1) Delete C:\WINDOWS\system32\spool\drivers\w32x86\*.* and every entry
in the registry under
HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Print\Environments\Windows NT
x86\Drivers\Version-2 and \Version-3 and then re-install UPD and other
native drivers I want to use
or
2) Delete selective files for all non-default installed drives in
C:\WINDOWS\system32\spool\drivers\w32x86\ and the corresponding registry
keys.
To do number 2, I'd need a list of the actual files that correspond to
the default drivers and to not delete those. This sounds lengthy, so
I'm thinking option 1 is the way to go. The question is, will I break
something if I do exactly what I describe in step 1?
Additionally, what other things may I need to do? It seems like there
are a few HP entries under
HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Print\Environments\Windows NT
x86\Print Processors. I assume these need to go? What about "ModPrint"
and "winprint" from this registry key.
Any other ideas on how to do this, aside from reloading the entire
server.
