We use Track IT. Our users send an e-mail to the Help Desk mail box.
Track IT sends an automatic reply to the user with an assigned Work
Order number. The Help Desk mail box is set up (in Exchange 2000) to
forward the request to all of our Support staff (Track IT will only
notify one e-mail address, so we used the Exchange feature to go around
this). We also use it to keep Inventory on computers, printers,
monitors and software.

Subject: [THIN] Helpdesk support software - any ideas?

Hi All

Does anyone use or know of any good "off the shelf" or otherwise =3D
helpdesk support software. We are after something which will allow us to
=3D
create a support job sheet with an allocated job number, append details
=3D
to it, and allow users access to the job status over the =3D
internet/intranet from an internal web server, and of course allow us to
=3D
create reports on customer/departments, open/closed jobs etc.

We currently use an access database which is OK but does have it's =3D
limiting features!!

Thanks

Kev
