I had the same issue on one of my servers.
I ran Regmon.exe and the Msinstaller is looking for various reg keys...
Here's the strange part...
For MANY of the data entries, where it should read
C:\WINNT\System32\wsxica.dll
It actually had C?\WINNT\System32\wsxica.dll in the registry !!!!
And it was for quite a few entries!!!
I'm not sure what the deal with the ? Is....
I just know two other test servers did not have this issue...

Has anyone run into this error when they try to upgrade to FR3? I am
currently setup with XP FR2 on W2K SP3. When I installed FR2 I accepted the
default path of c:\program files\Citrix and I am accepting the default when
I try to upgrade. In fact the installer does not give me the opportunity to
change the path when I do the upgrade. I have tried clearing all of my temp
directories with no luck.
I get this error during the install:
Source: MsiInstaller Event ID: 1013
Product: Citrix MetaFrame XP Server for Windows with Feature Release 3
-- The Program Folder cannot contain the following characters:
\/:*?"<>|,.();
I also turned on the verbose logging for the Windows Installer and here is
the only error I could find:
Property(C): ValidationError.827545C6_7013_4DE1_8E6C_DAEE4C57F54A =
ErrorPFNameInvalid.827545C6_7013_4DE1_8E6C_DAEE4C57F54A
I tried matching PFName to other entries in the log and nothing looked
wrong. Has anyone else run into this? Does anyone know how to get passed
this?
TIA,
Dan
