Hi Chris,
I used to have a low opinion of win 9x, but now that no-ones writing viruses
for win 9x anymore, it starting to look like an ideal thin client O.S. if you
can't cope with Linux. I've got a largish customer still using several hundred
9x systems, locked down and PN only. Some are 5-6 years old and still going,
only being replaced when they die.
At last audit there were still 10-20 Pentium 75s.
regards,
Rick

Subject: [THIN] "Dumb down" desktops
Was curious as to what different strategies people have used to "dumb down"
existing desktops?
Does it make sense to wipe out the existing OS and install a 3rd party app such
as Alcatraz (if so what are some suggestions on vendor) to really dumb them
down or should we keep the myriad of old Win98-Win2k machines and just use
PNagent or Program Neighborhood in the startup folder?
Thanks,
Chris
