The Snipping Tool first introduced in Windows XP Tablet edition experience
pack
<http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=1B5BA4F3-C8E1-405F-BE61-8A48BA11CA41&displaylang=en>and
now part of Windows
Vista<http://windowsvistablog.com/blogs/windowsexperience/archive/2008/09/29/esther-choi-is-back-and-she-s-feeling-snippy.aspx>is
a useful tool to capture and copy a portion of your computer screen to
paste into blogs and documents.
It is a basic replacement for the Printscreen method of copying and pasting
a portion of the screen which is not as granular and gives you a larger item
when you paste it. I've seen lots of questions about how to get this
functionality under the regular XP version. Snippy is the answer.
Read about Snippy for Windows XP and where to get it at the below link:

On the snippy page he does also suggest that it can be made to work with
earlier versions of windwows (2000, me, 98) after installing VDI extensions.
