It happens to us every now and then when GPO doesn't apply. I just delete the profile that has the offending wallpaper. We have a very simple DOS client environment (no e-mail,mapped drives) so adding an icon or two back to the desktop folder is no big deal. Isn't it fun trying to fix a locked down PC? I have internet kiosks. My favorite Yosemite Sam quote "I keeps a'lightin' em and he keeps a'blowin em out" always coming to mind when I find something new they've found they can do to those poor kiosks. -----Original Message----- From: Dogers [mailto:dogers@xxxxxxxxx] Sent: Friday, December 17, 2004 11:44 AM To: Thin List Subject: [THIN] Re: Desktop Backgrounds On Fri, 17 Dec 2004 16:41:00 +0000, Dogers <dogers@xxxxxxxxx> wrote: > Well, you know what they say.. if you try and make something idiot > proof, someone builds a better idiot - its the same with users! :) > > We've banned access to all sorts of things with GPO's, but it seems we > missed disable changing background wallpaper. Bah, I'm replying to myself, but thinking about it and delving into the registry on the console, I could probably remove it from their hive, if they were logged on, couldnt I?
