[THIN] Re: Dedicated Data Collector .. When?

It's not always about load.   Other factors, such a security and stability
come into play.  Not to mention the load of an over subscribed app server
will affect the performance of the ZDC as well.

 

It's nice to have a dedicated ZDC,  you can also throw some other services
on there that you normally wouldn't put on an Application server such as
Licensing (CTX and/or TS) and Web Interface.

ZDC duties in a small farm (50 servers or less) creates almost no load on
the designated server.
