Hi,

This can also happen if the application does a raw print to the spooler
subsystem (eg see SAPlpd in CTX107069), although printer drivers etc can have a
similar effect.

I had 1 user report this to me once, but haven't seen it yet. I'm using all
actual drivers so it's possible they were on some random printer that used the
UPD. I guess it's somewhat of a good choice that I opted to use native drivers
and not the UPD.

My guess is that it is UPD only, ThinPrint and Tricerat had the same type of
issues before they got off of EMF based printing......

Is this a problem when using the UPD only, or it can occur using the actual
printer drivers installed in the farm?

I've seen this before in our environment. I've had success with setting the
client printer to "print directly to the printer" as opposed to spooling the
documents first.

Hope this helps.

Brian

Subject: [THIN] Client Printing - Upside Down and Backwards

Sorry if this has already been covered:

Running Citrix PN Agent v9.1 and printing more than 1 page sometimes produces
output to the printer: Upside Down and Backwards.

I asked the User to remove the Toner Cartridge from the Laser Printer and put
it back in right side up. (KIDDING!) :)

At any rate, Citrix acknowledges this as an issue and has a NEW cpviewer.exe
file that fixes the issue.

However, cpviewer.exe is a clientside file, so in order to fix this issue, you
have to update ALL your clients.

Citrix is not sure that this patch will make it into the next ICA 9.2 client as
the deadline for that client and updates to it, is approaching fast.

In the meantime if you have users that call and state that printing is coming
out upside down and backwards on multipage printing, you can get a supported
patch from Citrix.

This occurs using all Citrix UPD Printing in an all PS4 environment running the
latest ICA client.
