Yeah only if you compare GSX. When you look at ESX and figure out you can get more VMs on the same hardware with better performance, plus centralized mgmt, the cost becomes acceptable for places with 10 -20 or 100 Host servers. However for a 4 processor virtual server it will cost you $499 for MS VS and $3388 for VMWare GSX it makes it hard to justify the extra money in most cases.
