[THIN] Re: Citrix client and NetWare client

Lonnie,

Try the following

The Metaframe farm need to know where the NT Domain is.
If you are using MF XP and FR2 and it is active.
For that farm in CMC, Properties Metaframe sttings there should be a new
box to fill...
Put your Novell Domain name in there.

Also see doc pasted below.

You accounts need to be synced between the Windows and Novell
environment, manually or automatically.
You may not end up with a single sign on to the novell client because
the PN client cannot understand the Novell client access token. Pass
through does appear to work but isn't consistent.

I am sufferring great pain with this at the moment.
We are trying MSDSS or Services for Netware 5.01 as we speak, to
automate the sync'ing.

MetaFrame XP for Windows 2000

Integrating Novell NDS and NT domain with MetaFrame XP FR2

MetaFrame XP FR2 (Feature Release 2) now offers to option to map Novell
NDS
accounts to NT or Active Directory domains

Previously with FR1 (Feature Release 1) you were only able to map Novell
NDS
accounts to DLU (Dynamic Local User) Accounts created or managed by
Novell
Workstation Manager.

With the following registry modifications, the NT and/or Active
directory
domain that you specify will synchronize with the NDS tree specified
within
your MetaFrame Farm. The NT or Active Directory Account that will be
mapped
to the NDS account has to be manually created with the same username and
password as the NDS account.

CAUTION: Using Registry Editor incorrectly can cause serious problems
that
can require you to reinstall the operating system. Citrix cannot
guarantee
that problems resulting from incorrect use of Registry Editor can be
solved.
Use Registry Editor at your own risk.

Make sure you back up the registry before you edit it. If you are
running
Windows NT, make sure you also update your Emergency Repair Disk.

Instructions

Open up the registry editor by typing "regedt32" at a command prompt.
Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Citrix. With Citrix key highlighted go
to
Edit\Add key.
Enter "NDS" as the key name and leave the Class blank, select OK.
Highlight the new NDS key just created, then go to Edit\Add Value.
Value: SyncedDomainName
Data Type: REG_SZ
String: Enter the name of your NT domain

Close the Registry Editor. Although it is not necessary to reboot the
server, it is recommended to do so.
You will now be able to sign into Novell and the domain that you specify
in
the registry. The NT domain will now appear in the NT tab of the Novell
gina, thus allowing the credentials to pass over to the NT domain.
If you want to create a registry script to run on your MetaFrame
servers,
the contents of the script should look like this:
REGEDIT4

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Citrix\NDS]

"SyncedDomainName"="domain_name"

Do let me know if you come up with a more imaginative solution.

This TID seems to be geared towards geting and ICA connection to
authenticate to a MF server with the Netware client on the
server. What I
have is Netware client on the client machine. No Netware client
on MF
servers. The problem that I can not solve is this.

On the client, I can't get "Use local user" or "Pass through" to
work. When
I try to use local user, the ICA client is populated with the
local user NDS
username and tree name, not the NT username and domain name.
