[THIN] Re: CSG / Java Client

Bill,

The solution may depend on what OS your clients are running
and the browser they are using.
Here are some things to try at the client, depending on OS.

W9X,NT,W2K,WXP(without SP1)
IE
1. Flush all temporary files. (I usually flush cookies too
but lose lots of stored settings.)
2. In IE under Tools/Internet Options/Advanced look for
Java(Sun)/Use Java and uncheck the box.
3. Still in Tools/Internet Options/Advanced look for
Security/Do not save encrypted pages to disk and uncheck.
4. Make sure you have the latest JVM security patches from
   Microsoft.
Netscape
4.7 This is where I've encountered the grey screen like you
describe. 4.7 will not work. Upgrade to the latest version.

WXP with SP1
SP1 removes the Microsoft JVM leaving you with nothing. You
must install the Sun JVM on the clients. Then it gets tricky.
Nfuse queries the client for its OS and browser. If it sees
Win32 and IE, it sends the Java client in .CAB files. These
work as long as WXP-SP1 hasn't removed the MS JVM. If your
clients are WXP-SP1 you must remove the logic in Nfuse that
distinguishes between Win32/IE and everything else. Force it
to send .JAR files to everyone. This will break all the rest
of your Win32 clients but you may be able to get them working
by checking the box mentioned in item 2 above. Alternatively
to all this Nfuse coding, you can use Netscape on all WXP-SP1
clients.

Wherever you see Netscape above, you can also use Mozilla.

Hope this helps.

Subject: [THIN] CSG / Java Client

Citrix FR3/SP3/FR3Clients/CSG/TA/NFuse1.7/Sun Java1.4/RSA

Running Publish Desktop

All up and running successful with all clients apart from the Java Client.
Can access Logon screen then select application icon ( internally or
externally with Java Client) then a big grey box appears and the system
freezes no error message given.

NFuse Admin - made sure Encryption and SSL/TLS has been ticked
Enabled - accept Java Applets on Server/Client IE Browser

Anything else I can try ?

Thanks in advance

Bill
