[THIN] Re: BGINFO

The way BGinfo works is that it creates a bitmap image of the info you choose
and sets it as desktop background. So if you want the time to be displayed
continuously you have to run BGinfo every minute or so. Not sure if this would
make sense ...

As for getting the time into BGinfo, you could use WMI and query for
Win32_UTCTime.

Dan

The question is not if the %time% variable exists but how you add it
into bginfo

The DATE and TIME variables already exist.

Open a cmd prompt and type: echo %date% %time%

        Bill,

Here it is. Like I said, this program creates a script (TED_DT.BAT)
that populates two env vars with current date and time. From there, just some
simple scripting away from a lot of good uses...

Well based on the lack of feedback thus far, can you send me
the program? I may be able to make use of it as I continue to look for other
solutions.

My brother wrote a program, that generates a script, that puts
the current date/time into a environment variable, which I use to rename backup
files etc. I'm sure there is a better way, but if you want it just let me know.

I doubt it. It's just a report of the information it
gathered when it was run last. What are you trying to do?

Put it in the startup-folder in the startmenu.

Does anyone know if the current time can be displayed
on a Citrix box using BGINFO? Or if there is a way to get the current time with
BGINFO? I only see snapshot time and boot time.
