Exactly. So I think one of the unspoken business drivers is to move the
XenSource clouds over to XenServer with little pain but a lot to gain. Then
you can up-sell support/maintenance and Citrix Essentials for XenServer..and
so on.

Also consider that everyone says that the Microsoft Hyper-V is free,
however, you still have to buy Windows server to get it!! In your cloud
example there are MANY commercial cases where a hypervisor that is actually
free will continue to make economic sense for a long time!!

If you follow groups like http://groups.google.com/group/cloud-computing/,
you will definitely get the idea that XenSource is the dominating hypervisor
within the "Cloud". Of course Cloud means different things to different
people. Not wanting to take Serguei's comments out of context, but when he
says "This will signal the eventual end of XEN", that will only happen when
marketing rebrand it :-).

BTW, don't forget that according to the press releases Xen is "Cloud
Proven", that is my new requirement for all products! :-)

Interesting read regarding some reaction to the announcement of free
XenServer yesterday.
