[THIN] Re: Application/OS Settings not Sticking

Scripting this on login is the easiest way to do this. I've changed =
regional
settings for several hundred user profiles on login from using regini.=20

Regini.exe is a freeware tool from MS on the NT 4.0 resource kit, and =
comes
bundled with Win2k.=20

First setup a *.key file with your settings. For example:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\International
        Locale =3D DELETE
        SLanguage =3D DELETE
        SCountry =3D DELETE
        iCountry =3D DELETE
        sList =3D DELETE
        iMeasure =3D DELETE
        sDecimal =3D DELETE
        SThousand =3D DELETE
        iDigits =3D DELETE
        iLZero =3D DELETE
        sCurrency =3D DELETE
        iCurrDigits =3D DELETE
        iCurrency =3D DELETE
        iNegCurr =3D DELETE
        sDate =3D DELETE
        sTime =3D DELETE
        sShortDate =3D DELETE
        sLongDate =3D DELETE
        iDate =3D DELETE
        iTime =3D DELETE
        iTLZero =3D DELETE
        s1159 =3D DELETE
        s2359 =3D DELETE

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\International
        Locale =3D "00000409"
        SLanguage =3D "ENU"
        sCountry =3D "United States"
        iCountry =3D "33"
        sList =3D ";"
        iMeasure =3D "0"
        sDecimal =3D "."
        sThousand =3D " "
        iDigits =3D "2"
        iLZero =3D "1"
        sCurrency =3D "=88"
        iCurrDigits =3D "2"
        iCurrency =3D "3"
        iNegCurr =3D "8"
        sDate =3D "/"
        sTime =3D ":"
        sShortDate =3D "dd-MMM-yy"
        sLongDate =3D "dddd, MMMM dd, yyyy"
        iDate =3D "1"
        iTime =3D "1"
        iTLZero =3D "1"
        s1159 =3D ""
        s2359 =3D ""

This is straight out of a Key file I used at a client site, (granted =
it's
weird looking, but for them it works). Put this in a text file, and =
save it
as a *.key. Then from a command prompt, or from a bat script on login, =
run.
. . .

Regini \\servername\sharename\*.key

The settings will be forced into the user registry. No if ands or but. =
As
long as the exe for regini is on your TS server.

You can also, import *.reg files on login for users without prompts. =
I've
seen Jim K post the method to do this multiple times. Since I forget =
how off
the top of my head, I'll let you look that one up. :)

Some users are using terminal services profiles, and others are not..
doesn't seem to matter. I think that what I really need is to find a =
way
to change the template that 2000 uses when a user logs in and it goes
through setting up the regional settings. Any idea as to how I can
accomplish this?

It all depends on what type of profile you're using, from the sounds of
thi=3D
ngs you've got roaming profiles setup. =3D20

If you log in as a new user, are the various settings set to what you
want =3D
them to be?

Have you set your terminal server profile path for user accounts?

The problem I would have with that is that the policy would need only
apply when they are logged into Citrix, in the past I have had good =
luck
with simply changing the settings on the 1.8 farm. Did something change
in XP/Win2K that makes the HKey Current User settings not apply to all
Citrix Users?

Citrix users though.=3D3D20

NT =3D3D3D
domain, Novell)

Hi all,

I am having an issue with setting applying globally to all users. I am
running Win2K and XPa. I need to change the page setup in Internet
Explorer and also the date format in regional settings for all users. =
On
my old 1.8 servers I just change the settings in Install mode and they
apply to all users, but in my new environment this isn't working. Any
suggestions...=3D3D3D20
