[THIN] Re: Anyone with experience using ArcServe v9 client ag ent

Netbackup on the other hand is a whole nother beastie. :| We have constant
problems with it. But I think that's cuz the implementation is faulty.
Figures that they would hand it over to me. :P And yes, the 'upgrades' can
get *REAL* pricey. Something like 1/2 a mill I think we spent... And that's
BEFORE the new robots.

I feel the same way about Backup Exec. I use NTBackup to backup everything
here. File servers, sql servers, mysql, ad, even exchange.

Veritas support is great until they change versions. Then you will get one
standard answer from them "You need to upgrade". Upgrades can get
expensive.

LOL Greg...honestly...Arcserve was a nightmare...this is about 3 years ago
but it was horrible...all kinds of problems and issues. Backups failing all
over...just a PITA. I would stay far far away from it.

On a whim we installed Backup Exec to try to get a good backup, almost
overnight our problems vanished and Veritas' tech support is superior.

Yea, we used to use ArcServe. My feedback is to drop that POS software
immediately and use Veritas. ArcServe sucks and their support staff barely
speaks English.

Anyone using the ArcServe v9 client agent on MF XP FR3 / Windows 2000
servers? I would appreciate any feedback. Thanks
