[THIN] Annoying Printing Issues
As if there are any other kind, right?
Running MFPS4.0 with HFR4 on Windows Server 2003 Standard w/SP2. Clients
are all running PNAgent and Web Client 9.20.
At random times, for apparently random users, printing will just suddenly
stop functioning. The users will start getting an error that says that
?no printers are installed?, or application specific errors related to not
having any printers installed. It?s even possible for the printers to
work in one program but not the other for a user, even when they are all
running in the same session on the same server. A client reboot or a
roaming profile reset sometimes appears to temporarily resolve the issue.
I?ve published all apps at the same settings in order to have the users
launch all of them in the same session on the same server. Farm policy is
forcing the UPD for all printers. I?ve also added the following reg key
to each of the PS servers to allow for admin mgmt of printers and sharing
of printers between sessions just in case a user opens a new session on
the same server:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Citrix\Print]
"DefaultPrnFlags"=dword:20004000
This was done at on the recommendation of Citrix Tech Support, as well as
upgrading the servers and clients to McAfee 8.5i with Patch 4 to solve
printing issues with the base install of McAfee 8.5i.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
-Christian
