Are you redirecting the Application Data portion of the User's Profile? Second, is the application installed in AIE or is it installed normally on the server but runs in a AIE environment? Have you tried redirecting the files instead of isolating them? (It's a little more work) Joe -----Original Message----- From: thin-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:thin-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Jeremy Saunders Sent: Friday, November 18, 2005 5:39 AM To: thin@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [THIN] AIE under Citrix PS 4.0 Hi All, I'm having a bit or trouble trying to isolate an application using an AIE and am looking for an "expert" that has a real good understanding of how it should work. Don't get me wrong, it isolates and lauches the application, but it takes so long to launch the app and close it that it is not acceptable for the production environment. The applications I am working with is Quicken 2003 QuickBooks and Quicken 2004 QuickBooks (for an accountancy firm). These programs are not multiuser and Terminal Server aware, so there are a couple of files in the %ProgramFiles% folder that generate a sharing violation, therefore I am using an AIE to Isolate ONLY these files. When lanuching the program normally outside the AIE, it opens and closes really quickly. But when lanching it via AIERUN, it's terribly slow. If you trace them with filemon you can see that it's searching the AIE User Profile Root for ALL files (exe's, dll's, etc) first, instead of from the %ProgramFiles% folder. It is my understanding that it should only refer to the AIE User Profile Root for the isolated files. I have a call logged with Citrix. So far level 1 support has not been that helpful to a point where they are blaming the Quicken application. I find this hard to believe and have asked for it to be escalated. In fact, I have asked to speak to an AIE expert who can explain why this is happening, and hopefully provide me with a solution, or tell me if I have correctly configured it. But I'm not confident that they will find me one for Monday, so thought I'd put this to the forum. The server OS is Windows 2003 (not SP1). Any help and advice would be appreciated. Cheers.
