[THIN] Re: 3com office connect firewall

Hi,

I know this is answering a question that you didn't ask... But have you
considered using a bandwith QOS device, like something from packateer or
sitara? (www.packeteer.com and www.sitaranetworks.com) These things sit
between your firewall and your switch/hub, and they can manage the priority
of packets. They're both smart enough to recognize ICA, blah, blah....

Anyway, both companies are pretty cool about providing demo units, so you
can borrow one, hook it up, and then check the logs to see what's really
going on.

Subject: [THIN] 3com office connect firewall

Do any of you use the 25 or 100 user 3com office connect firewall? It's
connection is limited to10mb and half duplex. Im wondering if this is not a
good firewall to use in a Citrix environment with remote offices. We
currently have a full T1 line. Our remote office has a 512k cable modem and
they are all on wyse 1200's. Every now and then the remote users screens
lock up and they get disconnected and sometimes just time out. The users
connecting internally at the corporate office never experience issues.
Anyone experience these issues with this firewall?
