[THIN] Re: 32bit Icons and strange AMC behavior

I know... but right now they are migrating and merging everything to one farm.
Good thing I helped them, they were going to put the WI on all their XenApp
servers for no reason! They didn't know about PNagent and they were managing
the icons on a per user shortcut basis.

I have to cleanup their profiles since they are going from W2k to W2k3 R2 and
from MFXP to PS 4.5 FR1...

Sorry, but this really stood out: “they manage multiple farms and they want
their roaming profile”

A couple things… One, they shouldn’t be mixing farms and roaming profiles.
Second, I wouldn’t put the AMC on all of the servers, just the ZDCs and then
publish it out.

Subject: [THIN] 32bit Icons and strange AMC behavior

I ran into a weird issue today.

At one of my customers, we are using "localhost" in the discovery process of
the Citrix Servers. They are using this because they manage multiple farms and
they want their roaming profile to always point to the local server in the AMC.

Today, we noticed that the 32bits icons were not showing correctly. Went in the
console and noticed that the option for 32bit icons does not exist !!!! All the
patchs were installed and working.

After messing around for a short while, i realized that if i put the server
name instead of localhost, i get the 32bit options back and my new published
apps gets a 32bits icons!

Weird i guess this has something to do with dcom security?
