[THIN] Re: 2 Wayyyy OT Questions

#1) Problem hitting a DC to authenticate, most likely timeout related. You
can increase the timeout via registry key.

I did also have an issue where the user ALWAYS had to enter their
credentials 2x before it authenticated them. Never found a solution, just
dealt with it, since Win98 was getting erradicated from my network shortly
after.

Subject: [THIN] 2 Wayyyy OT Questions

Hi all. I have a couple of issues that I hope the wonderful people on this
list can help me out.

1. I'm running Windows 2000 Server sp3. The majority of my users are
running Windows 2000 but I have two clients running Windows 98. One of them
periodically (quite often) has to log in to my domain three times before he
can connect. He receives a message that logon is denied and if he retries
two more times, it finally lets him in. I have no messages in the event
logs. I have changed the patch cable and run diagnostics on his network
card. I have also tried using a different NIC but still the same problems.
Ideas what to try next?

2. Same server. When anyone dials-in and tries to download a file
(anything over 1 meg.), even an administrative user, the server
automatically reboots. Nothing in the event logs to give me a clue where to
check first.

Any help would be MOST appreciated! Thanks!
