[texbirds] Summer Loggerhead Shrikes in Weslaco

Loggerhead Shrikes are fairly regular in Summer in the Weslaco area. Seems
they like the same stuff that attracts Tropical Kingbirds; open mowed areas
with scattered trees like city parks and school campuses. This summer there is
a pair near the entrance to the park on 18th St. along the jogging track. I
saw them fly out of a small oak that had a nest in it. Don't know if it was
their nest. Another pair is hanging out on Border in the open area east of the
large HEB distribution center.
