Hi Texbirders,
The sun was welcomed by birds and birders this morning. Yay! The NORTHERN
CARDINALS were singing and a NORTHERN BEARDLESS TYRANNULET was calling as
we started the walk. We had to sort through many ORANGE-CROWNED WARBLERS
and BLUE-GRAY GNATCHATCHERS (with a BLACK-AND-WHITE WARBLER thrown in for
good measure) before we got eyes on the Tyrannulet. Everyone got good looks
... after we patiently waited for the OLIVE SPARROWS to finish feeding in
the middle of the path in front of us. The MERLIN and HARRIS'S HAWKS were
highlights and the ALTAMIRA ORIOLES were particularly beautiful in the
sunlight.
Bird walks are seven days a week at 8:30 am. Meet at the Visitor Center.
