Good afternoon, birders,
What an amazing morning to be out in the refuge - blue skies, puffy
clouds, slight breeze, and bird song everywhere! The walk had only proceeded
to the levee, and small flocks of birds were moving across the sky almost
everywhere we looked. We all stood mesmerized. Walking out to Pintail, lots
of waders were visible, and with the wide open sky, the kettles were forming
for migration over the refuge - a sight to behold!
Bird walks leave the Visitor's Center daily at 8:30 am through March.
Hawk Watch continues daily from 8am - 1pm through April 15. Counters, watchers
and guests are always welcome.
