After volunteering planting prairie grasses at Horseshoe marsh, my wife and
I took a ride over to the

Dos Vacas Muertas Sanctuary on the west end of Galveston Island. First
visit there for us.

In about 45 minutes we saw:

Vermillion Flycatcher

Red-eyed vireo

Common Nighthawk - 3 flying over and 1 roosting

Mockingbirds - many

Green Heron

Cedar Waxwings

White-tailed kite

Yellow crowned Night-heron

Eastern Kingbird

Eastern Phoebe

Cardinals - many

White Ibis -flyby

Magnificent Frigate bird -Flyover

Scissortail Flycatcher

Ruby throated hummingbird

Plus a few little brown birds that we not able to positively ID.
