-Rarities Found This Week-

The Lewis's Woodpecker at Reveille Peak Ranch in Burnet County was
photographed nicely on 4/5,6. Details about ranch hours, access, and fees
are here: http://rprtexas.com/about/rates/ . The ranch is only available
on weekends, so no recent updates have come in. Visitors the next few days
are encouraged to update presence/absence of this area rarity.

6 Whooping Cranes were seen from Belton Lake Outdoor Recreation Area
(BLORA) on 4/10. Two family groups, each with 2 adults and a juvenile were
described. Birds departed before observer left, so not chasable. (Bell)

Two Swallow-tailed Kites flying over Cedar Creek in Bastrop County on 4/5
is an area treat.

A Scarlet Tanager at a Bastrop County home was a nice early report. 4/8

An American Bittern at Central Park pond in Austin has been cooperative.
 Latest viewings 4/3,7 (Travis)

A White-breasted Nuthatch was photographed on CR366 in Williamson County on
4/5.

A single Canada Goose was flying low over Zilker Park in Austin on 4/6.
This species frequency in the checklist area is still unclear to me.
Singles in park settings and golf courses are the predominant reports.

Warbler Woods in Guadalupe County had Eastern Towhees, photographed on 4/8.
Seemed like a good winter for the species in the area. A Hutton's Vireo
was also on the property on 4/6,7.

Colorado Bend State Park has a breeding pair of Zone-tailed Hawks that are
seen around the park 4/9
