Send interesting sightings- complete with species name, LOCATION, and contact information- to Kenny Anderson at kennya290@xxxxxxxxx -Exceptional Sighting- A Band-tailed Pigeon was photographed in Williamson County on 10/21. The bird was on CR258 near the intersection of 183 and 29. -Rarities Found This Week- A Nelson's Sparrow (photographed) continued at Travis County Park Bob Wentz/Windy Point on 10/21. This a bird rarely detected in the Audubon checklist area and was seen along the water's edge downstream from the boat ramp (currently out of commission). This afternoon, 10/24, had a White-tailed Kite (photographed) in Williamson County on Althea and Pasture Roads. A Ferruginous Hawk was photographed on CR402 south of FM2268. A Broad-tailed Hummingbird was photographed at a Bell County home on 10/15-18. Vermilion Flycatchers: Roy Guerrero Park in Travis County 10/24, Berry Springs Park 10/24 (WilCo), and Hornsby Bend's Platt Lane 10/20. Reports for the Austin area RBA cover a 60 mile radius, centered from the Capitol in downtown Austin. Bird sightings mentioned here have been filtered and scrutinized by the compiler and are believed to be genuine.
