This is the Austin Area Rare Bird Alert. This update is as of 9/4//2015.
Send interesting sightings, complete with species name, location, and
contact information to Nate McGowan at natemcgowanbirds@xxxxxxxxx.
-Rarities found this week-

A female/juvenile type VIOLET-GREEN SWALLOW was an outstanding find at
Hornsby Bend, *Travis*, photographed 8/30.

Two BLACK PHOEBES, an apparent adult and juvenile, were discovered at
Barkley Meadows, *Travis*, the same place an adult bird was present last
year. The birds were discovered 8/28 and have been present through 9/1.

A BLUE-WINGED WARBLER was described from Warbler Woods, *Guadalupe*, 8/31.

-Continuing birds from previous weeks-

A REDHEAD and a BUFFLEHEAD continued at Devine Lake, *Williamson*, 8/30.

A YELLOW-THROATED VIREO continued at Legacy Hills Park in Sun City,
*Williamson*, 8/30.

A RED-HEADED WOODPECKER continued near Alum Creek at Bastrop State Park,
*Bastrop*, 9/2.

A GREAT KISKADEE continues at Berry Springs Park in Georgetown,
*Williamson,* most recently 9/2.

Reports for the Austin area RBA cover a 60 mile radius, centered on the
Capitol in downtown Austin. Bird sightings mentioned here have been
filtered and scrutinized by the compiler and are believed to be genuine.
When documentation or photographs were provided, that is mentioned along
with the other information about the bird(s) being seen. For questions or
