Parking is going to be getting expensive.

Parking tags went up from $80 to $90 this year. A 12.5% increase. That
means that the cost of parking at ISU is increasing at about 4 times the rate
of inflation. Most employees only get at most a 3% a year increase in salary.
Using a small clam script, I arrived at the conclusion that if I were able to
work at ISU for 70 more years, I would end up paying ISU for the priveledge of
working here:

        2071: pay = 332548.52 parking = 342703.93

Parking tags will cost more than $1000 and account for ~1/78th of my pay in
just 21 years. Parking will exceed my net take home pay after 2067, assuming
my net take home stays at around 73% of my gross pay, which it probably won't.

Fortunately I plan on being dead before this happens, but I raise this alarm
in hopes of saving future generations from becoming indentured servants to pay
for ISU's parking lots.

                                                                - Steve
