I don't recall right now, but it seems to me that I have seen bulletins on
CRT burns from loss of vertical during power outage. I think multi-thousand
dollar TVs deserve a Sine Wave output UPS.
And those RCA surge protectors...don't waste your money. It looks like some
of the fancier TrippLites might be ok. Personally, both at my house and the
shop, everything important is on either PanaMax or APC, and anything Really
important is on a UPS, too. And importance isn't allways money. I have a
400Va UPS that powers two wireless telephones, a router, and a switch. Not
much money (or current pull) there, but it keeps the communications links
up.
