[TechAssist] sanyo jam box cd problem

hey guys,
i have a sanyo boom box, im not sure of the model number i dont have the 
battery cover, it is the one that has bass expander, cd player door is on 
top and when you eject the whole mech kind of slides out as the door opens, 
dont know how else to describe it anyway, cd player doesnt work, laser 
appears to be ok( trys to focus and has red light) cleaned the spindle, 
checked micro switch, ribbon cable ohms out, and no adjustments on the 
board. 5V out is low, about 4.8, enough for some watchdog timers not to work 
right. is there any common failures? i dont have a manual obviously.
