Wilf, I have ordered flybacks from Global too. I have had one come
without the focus/screen ground return pin to solder to the board, so I
sent it back. I have the feeling a lot of their flybacks are sub-par but
I haven't really ordered enough of them for proof of that.
I have been ordering my aftermarket flybacks from Cathray instead. They
sell ASTI Magnetics replacement flybacks. Where Global wants $11.95,
Cathray may want $28.00 but you might end up with a better part. Not to
say that Cathray's flys are always gonna be perfect either.
One thing I have read about aftermarket flybacks, is that it is possible
that the replacement might be used for more than one model of OEM
flyback, so therefore the specs to replace one of the OEM's is gonna be
off a bit, like the secondary winding could generate too high an output
or something.
