If it takes several seconds to cut off I would suspect that the reel drive
is not engaging so the reel sensor is triggering the cut off. If it happens
immediately I would suspect a problem related to the capstan motor. Either
the motor has a problem or it is getting locked down, perhaps through the
reel belt.
