[TechAssist] Re: pt-51g36ce convergence problem

     Hello
On the few projection tv's I have worked on I have never had the eprom  
cause a convergence problem either.
But  apparently with this set even if you are successful setting the 
convergence ,the settings don't hold and the eprom is the cause.  I have 
a tech friend from another shop who had recently worked on one of these 
sets. He replaced the amps ,and the resistors where good. He did not 
change the eprom. He eventually gave up because customer did not want to 
spend allot of money on the set. I am a little worried that this is the 
same set , because our shops are only 30 miles apart. According to 
Repair World ,this is the cause for loss of convergence. If anyone has 
had experience with this set I would appreciate any advice. Thanks
