Well, the good thing about this is the set fails long enough to isolate the problem. First, put your scope on the B+ and see if the voltage exceeds 130V. Next, check to see if you're getting vert output at the yoke connector. Third, check your 5 volt line to the Microprocessor--should be at least 4.85V minimum. Fourth, check your data and clock lines and make sure you've got 5 v peak to peak. Any of these can cause shutdown, and don't forget X-ray shutdown, which I've discounted since it shuts down and comes back up without unplugging the TV.
