Ron, I have had 2 simular Panasonics with your symptoms.
If that set uses the STR58041A regulator it must
be replaced with oem or it wont work right or hold and
I recommend adding additional heat sink if possible.
Had one that did exactly the same with on/off symptom
and lasted 1 1/2 year before having to replace regulator
again but added heat sink last time and hasn't failed
yet.
Had another that was uncontrolable and turned out
to be micro but since your set turning on and off it's
not going into shut down and probably is the regulator
at fault. Hope this helps.

This panasonic tv mod # ct35g21u chassis # aledp278 has had the HOT and
Volt. regulator changed out. Set played for 5 days in shop for 8 hours a
day...Customer picked up and after tv was setup at house it started to turn
off by itself and then after about 30 sec came back on . It has done this
for3 days all day long..on for 3hours then off for 30-60 sec then back on
forabout 30 min then back off...Relay clicks and tv tries to come on for
about 10 sec then does in fact come on then off again...Acts like someone is
playing with a remote turning it on and off...When this happens we can not
turn off or on with remote or power button or unplug and plug back in...Set
has a mind of it's own....HELP
