I got the same problem with a ptv-755 ,came in with Q802 shorted, i change
it worked good for 3days i let it go, it came back in 3 days Q802 out,
change the hold down caps, return,retrace diode ,did some resolder. I let
the set on 24-10, monitor the b+ it was good.The first day or so i felt the
heat sink it was cold, the set ran for six days 24-10, Q802 out.I need to
get back on this one,if you find some data please  post it,I will
also........bob

what else it could be. if i replace it it wks fine for 2 or 3 days. help
