[TA-A] kv-27exr15 & STR-S6301

Greetings,
I have a Sony kv-27exr15 that blows an STR-S6301 every couple of years. Does
this device perform any linear functions or is it just a switch? If it is
only switching power I would like to bypass it till I am re-employed and can
buy another sack of these ICs. I misplaced them and if I ever get any more I
am going to leave the sack inside the TV.
