I just did a JVC the other day. No video from tuner, but OSD was OK.
This IC is a function switching IC. If you have more inputs, and dual
tuners they may use another IC. This IC actually works as an electronic
switch, and my guess would be one of those BA7644's. Try hitting it with
some coldspray.
