Tomlee,
            Get into fdisk, remove or delete all partitions and extended 
partitions and then reformat it. If it still doesn't take, I can send you a 
program to do a low level format that will make the
disk as new. This is the last resort, if you remove all the partitions and ext, 
it will format fine.
