Delete them with "shift-delete" and they are gone forever, bypassing the
deleted items folder.

OE has a "deleted items" folder where deleted e-mails go initially. You can
find them there. If you delete them from the 'deleted items" folder, they
end up in the "recycle bin". That's the last stop. Delete items in the
recycle bin and thats it without special software to recover them.
