Jim,
Your right about having an internal resistor, even the ecg books
shows a resistor but does not indicate what the value should be. The 2sd1881
I had was from tritronics, came in a SK bag, not sure if it was ordered as
generic a while back. I am certain the new one did not have any resistance
under 500 ohms form base to emitter as that is what made me think the
original was bad, because it did have low resistance. I'm just glad it's
fixed.
