This sweep board (9-1268-02) is a rebuilt board so it is not the first time
this happpened. I tested the CRT with another zenith chassis (a 1400 series)
it runs ok. I tried a larger fuse 3A for the old smoke test.. There is a
massive amount of curent being drawn across the horzontial driver transistor
and the drive transformer they start to smoke without shorting???. The HOT
remains cold so it is probbably chassis time. The customer did not want to
spend the money for a new/refurb chassis. so they may call for it or I may
get stuck with it It's a nice set pip, SVHS, 2 video inputs, outputs ...27"
so I may end up fixing it anyway. Its weird people have been giving me a
number of 27" + sets lately, good brands like Sony, MAgnovox, Panasonic..

Hi Pete,
With fuse blown check HOT collector, if B+ there, power supply
probably ok. There have been problems with the audio panel soldered to the
main board. There is a small two wire cable from the SMPS that plugs in near
the metal box audio panel, unplug it. With jumpers hookup another fuse and
try set. Another point don't get to involved as these are the sets with the
bad A68AGD picture tubes.
